The Teaching Genius of Murray Panitz

A Panel Discussion and Virtual Reunion

Presented by FSGP's Pedagogy Advisory and Fundraising/Development Committees

This coming August would have been Murray Panitz's 100th birthday. Not only was he the Philadelphia Orchestra's principal flutist from 1961 until his untimely passing in 1989, he was also an active teacher whose former students have gone on to remarkable musical careers.  Please join panelists Dr. Kimberley Reighley, Lisamarie Windwalker, Joan Sparks, and Ellen Fisher-Deerberg as they share how his teaching transformed their playing and, in turn, influenced how they have taught students over the years. After the panel discussion, there will be time for a virtual reunion of Murray Panitz's students, friends, and colleagues.

Please register by Wednesday April 23, 2025 to assure timely receipt of the meeting's Zoom link.
