GENERAL REPERTOIRE GUIDELINES
1) Students should perform two contrasting works - one from either the Baroque or Classical eras and one from either the Romantic or Modern eras. One selection must be for flute and piano, the second may be for solo flute or for flute and piano.
2) The selection of repertoire is left to the students and their teachers and should fully demonstrate the individual performer’s lyrical and technical abilities. See the attached PDF for repertoire recommendations regarding the expected level of difficulty for each division.
3) The maximum performance time for the Senior division is 16 minutes. The maximum performance time for the Junior division is 12 minutes.
4) Students may be asked to submit a scanned copy of their works with measures numbered if the work is unfamiliar to the adjudicators.
1) The videos must be recorded during the 2025-26 school year. Any recordings made prior to September 2025 may not be entered.
2) Videos must be unedited performances. Multiple movements within a work should be recorded without pause.
3) The flutist’s upper body and full instrument should be visible on the screen.
4) Label each video with the performer’s first initial and last name, composer’s last name, and work title/movement(s).
5) Please submit each recording via a YouTube link, set to UNLISTED, and select "No, it's not made for kids", which will allow us to add it to the competition playlist for the adjudicators.
6) Once the competition results are posted, you may change the video setting to public for general sharing.
