PRELIMINARY AUDIO RECORDED ROUND

REGISTRATION / DEADLINES / AUDIO RECORDING SUBMISSIONS

  1. Preliminary Recorded Round submissions must be in MP3  or M4A format and uploaded with your entry application.
  2. Identify your audio recordings in the following manner: Entrant's first initial and last name followed by the composer’s last name and movement title (example:  CBroz.Piazzolla; CBroz.BachSarabande; CBroz.BachBourréeAngloise).
  3. It is the entrant's responsibility to adjust format and file size so each movement from the respective compulsory pieces can be uploaded as MP3 or M4A Audio Files. Please note: WAV files, video files, and files submitted/uploaded via cloud links (such as GoogleDrive, Box, Dropbox, etc. will not be accepted).
  4. Recordings must be complete and unedited. Please do not talk or identify yourself in any way on your submitted recordings.

All recorded files will be coded for anonymity before being submitted to the Preliminary Audio Recorded Round adjudication panel. This panel is made up of five professional flutists and/or flute professors. Each judge will listen independently to the entrants audio recordings and determine a numeric score value (0-10) for each piece. The scores from all five judges are then averaged together with the top scoring entrants (up to eight) advancing to the final round.
